Founder's journey

For thirty years Andre worked in corporate finance and consulting. The MBA, the PhD, the suit, the desk, the train. Five years ago, garden leave gave him the space to write the map he had been quietly assembling all along — through five years of inner work in yoga, meditation, Energy Medicine, Sound Therapy, Reiki, the Monroe Institute Gateway, and Tai Chi.

For nearly twenty of those years, one dimension of his own life sat in the dim. By 2025 it sat at 36 of 36. The graph that opens the book — and now opens the journey page on this site — is not proof of arrival. It is proof that the dim lifts.

How this book was written

The framework in these pages — the five models, the four dimensions, the four Chis, the sixteen states, the practices — is mine. It was drawn from a corporate life, five years of inner work, and the long process of seeing my own life through a map I was assembling without knowing it.

The synthesis took years.

I worked with Claude, an AI assistant from Anthropic, as a writing partner — drafting, restructuring, sharpening prose against the framework I held, and keeping the whole architecture coherent across thousands of edits. The voice is mine. The decisions are mine. The framework is mine. What changed is the speed at which a synthesis like this can now reach the page.

I name this because the book is about Purpose, and a quiet dishonesty about its making would undercut what it teaches. The instrument that helped me write it did not exist five years ago. The inner work it points to was, and remains, entirely human.

Acknowledgments

This book belongs in part to people who taught me the things I had to know before I could write it.

To Ilana, my wife of thirty-nine years, who has been my soul mate since we were sixteen and who carried us through the seasons I could not. Her transformational coaching work is what taught me what real transformation looks like. The Mindful Money Coaching practice is hers, and most of what I now know about how change actually happens in adult lives, I learned from watching her hold it.

To Abigail and Joshua, who have been more patient with their father than he deserved.

To the teachers whose work shaped what I came to understand — Christina Lopes, Jeffrey Allen, Donna Eden, the Monroe Institute Gateway and Guidelines courses, and the many teachers across the last five years in yoga, meditation, Energy Medicine, Sound Therapy, Reiki, and Tai Chi — whose patient correction built the body and the listening that made this book possible.

To the Pentecostal church that exiled me in my early thirties for asking the wrong questions: I bear you no ill will. You were the right church to be exiled from. The questioning continued, and the seeking found other doors.

To the teachers I've forgotten to name, and to the books I've internalised so thoroughly I no longer remember which sentence came from where: I owe you what I know.

And to you, the reader, who is here: thank you for trusting that the map might be one worth walking.

The framework only works if it is lived. Go live it.
